Hawaii Food Week

I just got back from a wonderful vacation in Oahu, Hawaii and will spend the week writing up some of the great food I had (not including the above). Stay tuned.

Check out all my previous Hawaii coverage here.

OK, I understand Hawaii's love for SPAM. However, what market research genius determined a need for such a product? Has anyone ever been eating macadamia nuts and thought to themselves, "Gee, I wish these tasted like SPAM instead"?

But of course with typical American gastronomic gusto, these have been well received:

Now, bourbon flavored macadamia nuts would be interesting.

Yeah, I didn't try this particular item. It just seemed repulsive to me, and I like spam (at least when cooked up island style).

America's contribution to world cuisine. Many Pacific island nations revere the stuff.

With so many incredible places and things to eat in Hawaii, so I have heard, this is one food item I would have passed on as well.
