New Whiskey Labels: Old Scotch, a New Beam Rye and More
This week's most interesting new labels from the federal TTB database:
Jim Beam cleared a label for a new "pre-prohibition style" rye and 90 proof.
A label issued for a 40 year old 1973 Glenglassaugh from The Malt Whisky Company.
Duncan Taylor cleared a label for a 42 year old 1969 Macallan.
Scottish bottler Blackadder cleared labels for a new series of Irish Whiskeys. There is a regular and cask strength version of A Drop of Irish, an NAS single malt Irish Whiskey.
Note: The fact that a label appears on the TTB database does not necessarily mean it will be produced. In addition, some details on the label, such as proof, can change in the final product.

Very interesting as always, but I've always felt that these posts are presented in quite an impersonal manner. Are there any releases in the last few months that have excited/interested/intrigued you especially?
The Beam 90 proof rye caught my eye. My wife had an uncle who made Manhattans with Old Overholt BIB he'd stockpiled before it exited the market. I spent years (literally) searching for something that would work as well. I've come close, but . . . I hope the 90 proof is a success if only so they'll bump the proof in a couple years.
