A.H. Hirsch Blind Tasting Update

Wow! The response to my A.H. Hirsch blind tasting idea has been overwhelming. I figured it would be popular, but I didn't expect hundreds of responses. I really wish I had enough so that everyone could participate, but alas, I'm down to one bottle.  However, I did expand the tasting group from ten to twelve, which will at least give a couple more people a chance to taste it.

Everyone who will be in the tasting has been contacted. For those who I wasn't able to include (and, unfortunately, that was most of you), I am truly sorry, but if this works out well, maybe I will organize more tastings in the future.

It will take some time for me to get the samples bottled and distributed, then for the folks to taste. Once the tasting is completed, I will, of course, report back. Hopefully, it will be interesting even to those who don't get to participate.

You said everyone was contacted, but I didn't get your email which I know you sent to me, you must have made a typo...

While I would have liked the chance to try it I'm still excited to see what comes from this. I think it's a great idea and will make for some interesting reading.

If we correctly guess the outcome can we get first dibs for the next blind test?

Also, Steve is a very generous sample sharer so I think it's only fair if we share the love by refilling the bottles with stuff open on our bars and sending them back.

I agree wholeheartedly with AK. This is a super idea that should be extremely interesting to follow. I will keep watch and see if I'm right that some will prefer the more available Bourbon (or at least find it a close contest). I am assuming the samples will be marked only as 'A' & 'B' or some other such "non-distinguishable" method.
To those who were lucky: Have FUN with this! ...And, be honest.

Yes, samples will be in identical bottles marked only A and B.

"A" for A H Hirsch and "B" for some other Bourbon?

Ha, ha. I'm not giving any hints about how I'm coding it.

Did you ever find a way to ship the whiskey? That always is a challenge regarding alcohol.
