New Whiskey Labels: Glenlivet, Kavalan and More

This week's most interesting new labels from the federal TTB database:

Glenlivet cleared labels for a series of 14 year old single cask expressions that appear to have train themes: Pullman 20th Century Ltd., Pullman Club Car and Pullman Water Level Route.

A new label cleared from the makers of Kavalan, the Taiwanese malt whiskey, for King Car Conductor Whisky.

A label cleared for Reisetbauer, a 15 year old Austrian single malt aged in trockenbeerenauslese casks, which is apparently a dessert wine.

And whoever said flavored whiskeys weren't classy.  Terresentia's Betty Bomber cinnamon whiskey features cleavage and a mushroom cloud!

Note:  The fact that a label appears on the TTB database does not necessarily mean it will be produced.  In addition, some details on the label, such as proof, can change in the final product.

An interesting collection of labels. KaVaLan has had a King Car Conductor whisky out for a while so I am curious if this is just an update or a new whisky (although I read that just about every batch they produce is kind of new in some way!).

I have a bottle of the Reisetbauer 7yo noted to be from both Chardonnay and Trockenbeerenauslese barrels (THE desert wine of my youth as I recall) that, while interesting, was not that good. Still tasted rather young to me. Would be curious to try the 15yo although I am not sure I would want to make the necessary effort and investment to get another one without trying first which would likely be hard to do!

Reisetbauer is a god of eau de vie, but his whiskey I don't know much about. It will be expensive, I'm sure. But still, I'm excited to try it. TrockenBeerenAuslese (TBA) wines are like the alsatian version of Sauternes or Tokaji wines, affected by noble rot.

Also re: train whiskies. only a matter of time, I suppose. Train fans and whisky fans are similarly deranged!

Did you see the Betty Bomber is made using the TerrePURE process that is supposed to artificially "age" whiskey faster? Not only is the label tasteful, but the juice is made with a fake aging process. And cinnamon flavoring!

Where do I leave my credit card?
